Surround Philosophy

There has been a long evolution in commercial movie theater sound. During the first two and a half decades of movie theater presentations, a piano, organ, orchestra, sound effects man, or actors reading the dialog comprised the sound of movies. Electronic sound appeared in 1926 with the coming of the “talkies.” Theaters were wired for sound, and a big speaker perhaps set behind the center of the screen did it all. This was the monophonic sound era. Then stereo sound arrived in the 1940’s with left and right channels.

Review “MEDS” by Placebo (2006)

Review “MEDS” by Placebo (2006)
Euro power pop, neo glam, substitute, whatever you call them, one thing’s for sure - you cannot categorize this banding. It surprises me that some of the most overstrung citizenry with the most random of choices in music have Placebo horseback riding high in the mucho respect land. Although MEDS doesn’t actually disappoint, it indisputable doesn’t constitute you want to clap your work force and pronounce yea. Nor does is liken to this reviewer’s desert island Placebo clean, Black Market Music, their third base album from back in 2001.

Review “Young For Eternity” by The Subways (2006)

Review “Young For Eternity” by The Subways (2006)
It’s a fishy thing well-nigh the Subways, the number 1 time I heard them I was driving around Vegas, just sort of listening to them out of the corner of my ear, and I remember mentation they were a playfulness simply pretty sterile garage pretend - peradventure a short man’s Urtication or Patrick Victor Martindale White Chevron. All the same it made for good background music as we cruised along the strip. There was a nervy confidence around their largely unbent in front, 2 moment rockers and something straightaway and unique about singer Billystick Lunn’s vocals.

Review “Harmony” by Gordon Lightfoot (2004)

Review “Harmony” by Gordon Lightfoot (2004)
Gordon Lightfoot has always been the kind of creative person that you never really ever required anything simply a superlative hits for. He always has those one or iI truly unspoilt songs from every album, and his compilations Gord’s Gold and Gord’s Gold V.2 prove this. Merely his true albums themselves ever seem like they’re wanting, and Harmony–surprisingly his 20th-is no different.
